ARC & STREET TEAM MANAGEMENT

£100

Your ARC team is one of your strongest marketing tools as they provide a type of marketing that cannot be manually created: social proof.

Sending out an ARC to book lovers in your genre who like the sound of your story and want to read it before its official release are one of the best ways to help boost Amazon rankings on release day, and generate social hype and excitement about your book.

And while finding your own ARC readers across multiple social media channels is absolutely possible, it is also time consuming and can be a lot to organise. At PaperWild, we expand your reach, recruit your team, take the stress out of the organisation, and even create ARC team graphics that we send out for readers to post on their socials!

1

Recruiting ARC Readers

We will send out your book cover and blurb on our Indie Bookshelf Newsletter which has over 2,000 subscribers across a variety of genres, calling for ARC sign-ups.

Readers who are accepted will be asked to sign an NDA confirming they will not share or distribute the manuscript or upload it to AI.

2

Managing Your Street Team

Once your ARC readers have been recruited, we will manage your ARC mailing list, including NDAs, BookFunnel distribution, and answering all questions.

ARC readers will receive regular reminders to read and review, and will also receive an "I'm on the ARC team" graphic for socials.

2

Hyping You Up

Your ARC team will have access to you in a group chat on Discord where you can discuss your book and readers can share their favourite moments with you.

2 additional graphics will be sent out of the ARC team on release day to share on socials and get your book that additional reach!

Marketing FAQ

  • There is no one-answer-fits-all for marketing self-published books as each author and platform is unique.
Part of the process is trying them all out and sticking to the one that works best for you.

    • When just starting out, focus on building a street team consisting of beta and ARC readers. They will be your loyal fans who love everything you write and will always hype you up across multiple platforms. Social media is a great way to find beta and ARC readers, or get in touch with PaperWild today to see how we can help recruit your street team today!

    • Every social media platform is unique and what works on one won't work on another. Instagram, TikTok and Threads are three of the most common ones for authors to get started on. Try them out, join some indie author groups, interact with other authors' content, and over time you'll start to pick up what works for you.

    • Facebook Ads and Amazon Ads also each have their own unique pros and cons. At PaperWild we can help walk you through them!

  • The more books you have available, the more worth it is to spend more on your ads. But you can start as low as £2/day.

    • Your first book alone is unlikely to make a return on paid ads, however it is still worth doing to extend its reach to more readers. You can start with as low as £2/day.

    • Once you have more than one book out, it becomes more worth it to increase your ad spend on one book or the first in a series, as the first book will get readers picking up your second and third after they finish the first!

    • Facebook Ads and Amazon Ads have different features and strengths. Keeping a close eye on your analytics is extremely important to know what is working for you.

    • If you feel confident in your own design capabilities, you absolutely can design your own ads on Canva. But if not, or if you don't have time, we offer a full ads design service.

  • As soon as you've started writing it - but don't pay for ads until you've published!

    • You should be starting to build your reader community from as soon as you've started writing, or maybe even before. Pick a social media platform and post regularly, comment and interact with others in your niche regularly, message creators whose accounts you love, read other indie authors' books. Create a community. They'll hype you up and show up when your book releases!

    • Before your first book is released, it's usually not worth running paid ads. For your first book, your beta readers and ARC team will be your strongest supporters.

    • For consecutive books, you can then do paid ads leading up to the release and promoting your first book alongside it.

  • PaperWild's ARC / Street Team Management service is an amazing way to get hype for your book without the stress of finding your own readers!

    • At PaperWild, we have a vetted and hand-selected team of over 100 beta readers across every possible genre, from romance and fantasy to self-help and non-fiction, and we have a newsletter subscriber base of over 2,000 readers who love supporting new indie releases.

    • PaperWild's ARC Team Management includes recruitment of your street team, distribution of your manuscript, NDAs and Privacy Notices, social media street team graphics, and reminders to review on release day. Get the hype without the stress!

  • If you are recruiting your own ARC team, you should start recruiting about 2 months before your release date, with the aim to send your manuscript out about a month before your release.

    • You want to give readers enough time to read it, taking into account that they may currently be in the middle of another book, and that some people are slower readers than others, and because life happens. But you also don't want so long that they forget what the book was about. Sending it out about a month before release is ideal.

    • At PaperWild, our ARC Team Management is a 6-week process, where we will put out a call for ARC readers on our newsletter six weeks before your release date, with your manuscript sent out 4 weeks before your release date.
